Our Story

Team Alpha NGO believes in utmost transparency with the Forest Department while working with wild animals, birds and reptiles. We believe in following set protocols during rescue, rehabilitation and release. After rescuing any bird or animal, we get it registered with Forest Department where all the details of severity of injury or sickness, estimate of rehabilitation time. Regular updates are also given during the rehabilitation process. Once our vet deems the bird fit to fly, the department is intimated about its release with video or photographic evidence. HYENA SURVIVAL JOURNEY

1.RESCUE DATE- 13th April 2018

2.CONDITION WHEN RESCUED- Was spotted by localites of shahada village (Nandurbar) near
Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh border. It was severely injured due to
an accident resulting in various grievous injuries and blood loss..We
were informed about the situation and therefore the hyena was
bought to Nashik at the earliest. On examination by the vet, it was
diagnosed that she had suffered jaw dislocation and fore-leg
fracture. Treatment was provided to her immediately. A jaw pinning
surgery was performed on her and her fore- leg had to be plastered to cure the dislocation...

3.status- Released on 26th May 2018.

BONELLI’S EAGLE

1.RESCUE DATE- 18 th Dec 2019

2.PLACE- Girnare (outskirts of Nashik)

3.CONDITION WHEN RESCUED- It was observed that the wing had extensive injuries and was hanging on a single cartilage.

4.VETERINARY CARE- the eagle was taken to veterinary polyclinic.
On examination, it was diagnosed that the
entire wing tissue was infected and had
gangrene & hence had to be amputated. Later
after few days, a part of remaining infected
bone was removed.

4.REHABILITATION CARE TAKEN-providing proper basking area. Providing a
nutritious & comprehensive diet. Stress free
environment. Owning to the permanent wing
disability, this eagle will be under our care.
However, efforts are being made along with
the forest department of Nashik to provide a
permanent shelter.

4.status- Permanently Disabled.
